About Etani ♥

Etani ♥ is a UK lifestyle blog written by Vanessa Akakpo which focuses on fashion, hair and beauty for Black Women. Vanessa was born and bred in France but is originally from Togo, West Africa. She has been living in London, England, for the past 9 years. As well as blogging, Vanessa works full-time as an Accounts Assistant for a film producing company and is the mother of a lovely three-year-old girl.

Hello, my dear readers and welcome to Etani ♥ ! I hope you'll find everything you are looking for and even more in terms of a new, affordable and fantastic lifestyle!

Despite religiously reading my Marie Claire and InStyle magazines every month, it's always been obvious that they didn't cater for women like me. I ♥ to read articles about Afro Hair and Beauty Care and seeing more pictures of beautiful and influential Black Women. 

After chopping my hair off in December 2011 and going 'Natural' I realized that I had no clue on how to take care of my new hair texture! As you can imagine my glossy magazines didn't help me out so, I started viewing video tutorials on YouTube in a quest for some tips and inspiration. It appeared pretty quickly that many of these videos were more suited to an Afro-American audience as I couldn't find most of the hair products being promoted in the UK!

This is when I decided to launch Etani ♥, a UK blog which would provide its UK-based Black Female Readers with great tips for fashion, hair & beauty and everyday living.
